Xbox Live Fall Dashboard preview: From ‘nonsense’ to Metro

Joystiq has an early look at the Xbox 360 fall dashboard update. I think I like this look better than the current one.  I really liked the cascading menus that kind of went off into the distance, but I’ve never been a fan of the side scrolling ones.

I’m into the Windows Phone 7/Metro UI look. Now, about those  cloud saves…

This is pretty cool

Game development is fun. There’s programming, design, testing and just plain good old silliness. Here’s a brief snapshot - a retelling of what I did this weekend!

I was putting in a few extra hours on Minecraft this weekend, refactoring code so biomes could directly decorate the terrain…

Prediction: For holiday 2012 Amazon will be giving away Kindle eReaders (what we know today as the Kindle) for free with some kind of promotion. Something like, “spend 1000 dollars at Amazon between October 1st and Christmas and get a Kindle for free.”

If they are planning to sell a full fledged Android tablet for $250 an eReader at 114 is too expensive.  I’ll bet it drops to $99 or even $75 this year and then free next year with the aforementioned promotion.

Amazon hasn’t announced anything.  This is all based on rumors.  But Amazon has laid the groundwork already with a video store, music store and an Android app store.  It’s very likely that an Amazon is coming, we just don’t know when.

Supercookies

For those of you that don’t know what these are, they’re cookies that can track you beyond the website that gave you them.

I find this pretty scary myself, now I won’t question what you do on the internet but I don’t like the idea of a website like twitter or facebook finding out. It could have serious repercussions on your relationship and your status with the law, I don’t think I need to explain the relationship one but the police could release these supercookies and track illegal actions with it. For those among us who like to pirate music and games we should be very worried.

Fright Night Review

I won’t put any spoilers in this so I’ll keep it short, this film is awesome and the 3D is like nothing I’ve ever seen it really does seem like the bits of blood and body and fire are really coming at you, the plot isn’t the most original but its compelling nonetheless, in short GO WATCH IT!!!
